KwaZulu-Natal Premier Honourable Thamsanqa Ntuli cast his vote at Vumanhlamvu Primary School in Ward 6, Nkandla Local Municipality.

The Premier cast his ballot at approximately 10:00 am on Wednesday, 4 November 2026, as part of South Africa's 2026 Local Government Elections.

Soon after casting his vote, Premier Ntuli issued a call to the public for a peaceful electoral process, urging local communities to maintain calm, practice restraint, and respect the democratic rights of fellow voters.

The Premier also urged voters to use their votes as their democratic voices to elect the people they want them to lead in the municipalities.

"The time for bullets is over, instead use the ballot to exercise your democratic right to elect leaders who will deliver services to you for the next five years.

"If you don't use your vote as your voice, it means that other people's votes will be your voice for the next five years. I therefore urge you not to hand over your power of decision making to others," said Premier Ntuli.

Prior to voting in his home area of Nkandla, the Premier spent the morning monitoring the state of readiness and the electoral environment at several nearby voting stations, including Thalaneni and Mbizwe.
