Chinese Consul General in Cape Town Ren Faqiang Meets with UCT’s VC
On August 24, 2026, Ren Faqiang, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Cape Town, met and discussed with Professor Mosa Moshabela, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Town(UCT), and Professor Thokozani Majozi, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and the president and chairperson of the Academy of Science of South Africa, exchanging views on strengthening Scitech and education cooperation between China and UCT.
Consul General Ren congratulatedUCT's longstanding position as the top institution in Africa in terms of comprehensive strength, highlighted the willingness of working hand in hand to explore more areas of cooperation.
Professor Moshabela and other officials expressed their gratitude for the Consulate General's support and reaffirmed their commitment to further deepen the practical cooperation Scitech and education between UCT and China, welcoming more and more Chinese students studying in UCT.
